On Monday, November 9th, our school celebrated our Veterans in a very special way. It began with a flag folding presentation by one of our school father's, Master Sergeant Thomas Perreault and another airman, Staff Sergeant Ryan Lanighan. We are grateful that they took time out of their busy schedules to be with us.
The ceremony continued with some of the students in the 6th grade reading essays they wrote about how Veterans Day began and what makes it important to them. Mr. Behm's 7th and 8th grade classes did a video on what it means to be free.
Next we heard from Sergeant Joshua Bryk, nephew to our own Miss Cindy Bryk and father to one of our Pre-K students. Sergeant Bryk joined the army when he was 18 as he was very moved to service after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center. He continued serving for 10 years where he served two tours in both in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The ceremony ended with the 5th grade girls' acapella group who sang "We Thank You" in honor of all our veterans.
On behalf of all of us at St. Christopher School, we would like to thank all Veterans for their service - past, present and future!
