St. Luke's Boxed Lunches

From the Desk of Mrs. LeVine

To all of our St. Christopher Families

On behalf of everyone involved in the basket raffles this past week, we would like to thank you immensely for your continued support of Mr. Frank Gengo and his impending kidney surgery. Because of your continued support, with the dress down day and the baskets, we have raised $9000.00 for Mr. Gengo's benefit. Thank you again to my sister, Elaine (my OLDER sister), for making the baskets! We wish nothing but the best for the Gengo family and will continue to keep them in our prayers. Anyone wanting to go to the benefit for him on March 29, it is from noon to 4, which includes a spaghetti dinner. Our St. Chris kids can come for $5!!! It is at Blessed Sacrament Church in Tonawanda.

A MESSAGE from Mrs. Bainbridge

Lent is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. The forty days represents the time Jesus spent in the wilderness, enduring the temptation of Satan and preparing to begin his ministry.

Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter. It is a time of self-examination and reflection. It is a time to focus on our relationship with God, often choosing to give up something or to volunteer and give of ourselves for others.

Maybe during the special season of Lent we can spend few moments each day thanking God for the good things that are in our lives and ask God to help us to be like Christ.

Peace and Blessings,

Mrs. Bainbridge

A Prayer for Lent

O gracious Master, infuse in our hearts the light of Your Wisdom and open the eyes of our mind that we may understand the teachings of Your Gospel.  Instill in us the ability to understand Your blessed commandments so that we may be able to follow them and lead a more spiritual life in thinking and doing for You. For You, Christ, our God are the enlightenment for our heart and souls.  To You we render glory, together with God, Your Father and the Holy Spirit now and forever.  Amen

St. Christopher School - BUILDING ON A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE -

Our program of Catholic education relies on the basis of proven success and innovative educational experiences. In doing so, we develop a foundation of faith in students who have the skills to become life-long learners.

WE AS A CATHOLIC SCHOOL COMMUNITY:

BELIEVE -- that each student enrolled at St. Christopher School is a unique and important person and that every facet of his/her life -- spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical should be developed.

SEEK -- to help each individual develop as thinking, caring Christian who respects all life and has the desire and ability to contribute constructively to the betterment of our world.

REALIZE -- that the educational process goes beyond the school. Thus, the developing of a shared commitment from the community, parents and school is a necessary ingredient in achieving these goals.
